Enid Hamfest

A good number of amateurs and friends conducted the pilgrimage to Enid, Oklahoma recently for the annual hamfest there.

The American Radio Relay League forum was well attended.  Kevin O'Dell, N0IRW, the Oklahoma Section Manager led a discussion about happenings in the Section.

Woodward County Emergency Manager  Matt Lenenbauer,  W5WEM, was  one of three  emergency managers to attend the hamfest.  He and his team brought a command vehicle with them for "show and tell".

Lawton Award Ceremony

Clifton Harper and the School Radio Club received an award for the

activities last fall during the November Sweeps Stakes, using the

callsign K5USA.

Available for presentation were L-R Marcos 10 years old, KF5LLG, Itzel, 12 years old, KF5JAZ and Clifton Harper KE5YZB.

Sixteen students organized and operated for about 8 hours from their local park using 100 watts of power and a home brew vertical wire antenna and were classified as a school during the contest.  Fortunately those young voices get through some of the largest pile-ups.
