News from our neighbor to the South

North Texas Giving Day, September 19, 2013 is an annual one-day
DonorBridge-powered fundraising event that has pumped more than $35
million into the local community since 2009. This year, Sci-Tech
Discovery Center has partnered with the Communities Foundation of Texas
to raise money to provide dynamic science, technology, engineering and
math experiences to over 100,000 people a year of all ages. Your
tax-free contributions of $25.00 or more to Sci-Tech will be multiplied
by the Communities Foundation of Texas during this event!

The Sci-Tech Amateur Radio station, K5STC, is open to the public
one-day each month to provide awareness about Amateur Radio. Sci-Tech
plans to continue its support of the Boy Scouts of America
Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) program and the One-day Radio Merit Badge
program that was pioneered here in Texas. Other camps and special
events are planned to introduce Amateur Radio to youngsters.

The Plano Amateur Radio Klub (PARK), McKinney Amateur Radio Club
(MARC), Lake Area Amateur Radio Club (LAARK), Denton County Amateur
Radio Association (DCARA) and other interested radio operators support
K5STC’s operations throughout the year. Your targeted donation will
help the Sci-Tech Discovery Center increase awareness about Amateur
Radio in north Texas.

Be sure to visit DonorBridgeTX.org on September 19, 2013 and help
Sci-Tech create interest in Amateur Radio activities in north Texas.
Please put “K5STC” or “Amateur Radio” in the notes section.
