In support of the Okmulgee County SKWARN and Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) the Okmulgee County Emergency Management will be hosting an amateur radio licensing exam and preparation course. The course is designed to help participants prepare for the Amateur Radio Technician level licensing exam. The six week class is an introduction to radio communications and is ideal for individuals new to amateur radio.
An informational meeting and the first class session will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Okmulgee County Emergency Operations Center. Subsequent class sessions will be weekly, on Mondays, at 6:30 PM through March 10, 2014. A licensing exam session will be held at the completion of the course and is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2014.
Anyone interested in attending or with questions can contact Jason Dawson KF5KFB for additional information.
