Our New Mexico friends want you to know about this.
The following is from Bill Ripley KY5Q, chairman of the 2015 Albuquerque
Duke City Hamfest
2015 Albuquerque Duke City Hamfest & NM State Convention
Join us on August 7 - 9, 2015 for the Duke City Hamfest (DCHF) held at
the Marriott Pyramid in Albuquerque, NM. This year's event is slated
to be even bigger and better than last year, with 3-days of forums,
programs, demonstrations, hands-on projects, banquets, commercial
exhibits, flea markets, tailgating, and family activities.
Our special guest speakers this year include Riley Hollingsworth
(retired FCC Special Counsel) and Bob Allison from the ARRL labs.
Riley and Bob will alternately speak at each of the banquets and at
forums during the event.
Friday AM leads off with Contest Academy, an all-day session for
contesters new and old. The commercial sales and amateur radio indoor
sales area starts mid-day Friday. Friday Evening is a Mixer with cash
bar and finger food.
Saturday AM leads off with the DX/Contesting Breakfast hosted by the
Albuquerque DX Association. Plan on a full day of programs and
exhibits. We'll have a High Altitude Balloon Launch on Saturday
(pending weather), with multiple simultaneous balloons, and payloads
built by the amateur radio community and kids participating in the STEM
Trajectory Initiative at their schools. Saturday evening closes with
the annual awards banquet.
Sunday AM starts with a breakfast where new hams and youth are
encouraged to attend. We will have presentation about the balloon
mission by the kids and leaders with exciting film video, still
pictures and data, as well as another engaging program. A Skywarn
class, more programs and forums, and both commercial and amateur sales
continues till mid-day.
We are working on a Good Equipment auction on Friday or Saturday
(TBD), and a Transmitter Hunt for Sunday. We'll have major prize
drawings on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as hourly door prizes all
three days.
The Marriott Pyramid is a great venue, with all 5 of the parallel
tracks and all sales held in the same building. Join us at the hotel
for fun time with great rates. Because of the convention center
layout, this will be much more convenient than in previous venues.

We have a few forum slots available. If you know of a great forum, or
would like to present, please contact me ASAP.
