The March of the Ants continues #Skywarn #ARRL #hamradio

At Spotter Network, work continues to improve reports.  From years ago to today, there's around 67000 users and more buyin from emergency management and National Weather Service personnel.

In a recent email, Spotter Network reports:

SN Members Submitted 3,226 reports:
189 tornado reports.
172 funnel cloud reports.
355 wall cloud reports.
846 hail reports.
571 wind reports.
539 flood/flash flood reports.

With encouragement to keep accounts current, those who did not get an email from Spotter Network will find their account suspended.  Check your Spam folder.

There's even a place for you to put your ham radio (or other) callsign.  While hams are getting on board with that, local government operators are also putting their unit numbers there.

Please support your local Skywarn program but use Spotter Network too.  Your report goes directly to the NWS office serving your location (you forgot to check the phone number before you left today).  Expect a call from an emergency manager or the Weather Field Office, if they have questions about the report or are looking for a followup to it.

Remember ACES and be safe.  Oh, and the march of the ants refers to the little red dots on RadarScope showing the position of Spotter Network users.

Green Country pictures

Thanks to Mark, K5MRK for sharing these views of the Green Country Hamfest.

I forgot to take my camera to Green Country, but took a couple on my iPad.  L to R on #50 is MRK, Gary-TWP, and Ronnie - RQW
#51 is Melissa, Ronnie's wife
#49 is this beautiful dog and his owner (who I did not get a name or call).  He was there Friday PM, but I did not see him Sat.
Friday we had a "3 legged dog" walking around and Saturday, it looked to be the same dog – size, color, breed, but he had 4 legs.  Ask me about this issue which BLEW my mind.
